6/5 stars, it will always and forever be my favorite series by far. And most of the community is very accepting. (Youtube, Reddit, Tumblr, Discord, Amino, etc.). Go to almost any social media website and you’ll find something. So many amazing minds coming together to fan girl (or boy) about these fantasy dragons. Even at a glance the online fandom of this series is incredible. Another thing about this series are the fans. I wish there were Wings of Fire conventions, I’d host one myself if I was older and wasn’t so shy. I met Tui a while back and she was amazing.

It’s in the process of becoming a TV show right now. Sutherland (the author) put into this series is amazing. It also has multiple LGBTQ+ characters, which really helped them be normalized in my mind (Along with other things, of course.) I’ve read this book series so many times over, it’s engrained in my head, yet every time I notice more details. It has many real-world problems, like racism, manipulation, etc. In the latest book, there was only one gory scene, compared to book one, which had at least 3. Sure, there is blood and gore, but it decreases as the series goes on. I read some other reviews here talking about how much violence is in these books, and I don’t really agree. Even the background characters have backstories, like the SilkWing in love with the HiveWing we meet in book 12. It has so much lore, I want to reach into the book and grab every history scroll and book there is! The characters are also very good. There is so much to love about this series. It’s why I’ve decided to become an animator when I grow up. Ok, I was introduced to these books in 4th grade, and boy am I glad, I can’t go a day without thinking about Wings of Fire. The dust that they had kicked up in his death covered her head to tail.' Honestly, comparing the real with the one I made up is a real difference, right! Read this book! She was covered in his lifeblood, sprayed from the slit in his throat. There's a bit of blood but that's it! It says things like, 'She looked rather scary, covered in dust and blood', not (don't read if squeamish) 'She looked horrifying, the blood and sinew of her last opponent dripped from her fangs. There is a lot of stabbing/slashing/ripping, but it's not actually that gory. :( Basically, it's up to the parents to decide whether their kid is mature enough to read this book. The worst violence is in the prologue and epologue, and after my mom read the prologue, she was about to ban me from the books until I told her that I've read way more violent things and that it was really mostly in the prologue and epologue! Clay is an amazing role model! He will do anything for his friends and isn't afraid to sacrifice himself! My favorite character is Deathbringer, though he only appears in the third book and up. I am in love with this book series! I love dragons and these days it is so hard to find a good book series with dragons in it! I especially like that is in the dragon's point of view! There is a problem with violence, but honestly, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. Sorry this isn't entirely about the book, I may have gotten a little carried away. I love this book, but parents, the choice is yours.

Parents I'm not telling you how to raise your children, I'm just helping you to understand them, especially as they get older. I know you want to protect your child, but what we all(kids) want is to be able to understand and be trusted. I'm not saying that this goes for everyone. I feel like we're underrated, we're "to young", but what adults don't realize, is that a lot of us are more mature the we're thought to be. I feel like nobody knows me, and I'm sure other kids/teens feel the same way.

This book does have blood and war, but it also shows us a glimpse of the real world. I have a friend who's 10 years old, and he is one of the most understanding and mature kids I've ever met, even more so than many teens. The reason I have the age as 11 is because at this age I think that kids should be able to understand.

The youngest that I think should read this book is probably 8 or 9. So you heard that this is a violent book, and I'm not going to disagree.
